Panda Antivirus and Secunia Online Scanner
I actually have a link to Panda Antivirus Online Scanner on the main page but I wanted to discuss the antivirus program a little more in depth. Panda antivirus is overall a great antivirus according to the review from About.com. The editors gave the software a five out of five rating. They highlighted Panda's TruPrevent technology which detected even the latest threats. About.com also liked how the scanner utilized very few system resources when performing a scan. While this review seems positive, I also discovered on Cnet that users may have felt otherwise. Unfortunately, the software only received 2 and a half stars out of 5 on over 200 user ratings. The written user reviews were still above average. Most people stated that Panda's ease of use were its selling points. One thing that I liked about the program were the system requirements. The software can run on computers with only 300 mhz processors and 128 mb of ram. This are very low operating requirements and would imply that the program can run excellent on a netbook or laptop.
Panda Antivirus also has an online scan. The link to the scanner can be found on this website's homepage near the bottom. I like that the online scan can detect root kits which are historically very nasty viruses. The scanner can also delete viruses which is unique to only a handful of online antivirus.
